Angelique served wine and snacks to energize the group. Meditating and waiting for the visions to come, took incredible amounts of energy and the members of the coven had two more rounds to get through.

Luke noticed how drained his staff seemed to be and decided never to try multiple sessions at once again.

When they were refreshed and ready to start, Claire placed the items they had collected on the altar cloth. From Roberta Blau’s room, they had chosen her favorite dress, her cell phone, and her Pandora bracelet.

As everyone took their turns with each of the items, the excitement in the room waned. Luke could feel the energy slipping away and feared not much would come from each person.

After they finished with Roberta’s possessions they compared notes.

“I saw a man standing near the track at the middle school,” said Misty. “He was tall and thin and wearing a light blue suit. He smiled and appeared friendly and non-threatening. He called Roberta over to him and she went with him. They walked around the corner of the school and that’s all I saw.”

“Uh-huh,” said Casey. “Same, but I caught a glimpse of the car he was driving. A luxury model, dark blue sedan. Could have been a Lexus.”

“Could you see the plate?” asked Luke.

“I only got a partial, AZ3.”

“Hey, that’s great.” Luke smiled. “That’s more than we had when we started. Great job.”

“I wonder why Roberta would go with him?” asked Charlotte. “Did she know him?”

“Maybe he tricked her,” said Rufin.

“That’s possible,” said Luke. “If the man was a recruiter, he would have his little speech down pat. Those guys are well-practiced and act friendly. They say all the right things to lure a young girl away from home.”

“We need to find her,” said Rowanne. “After what happened to me, I know how terrifying it can be to be held captive and made to do things against your will.”

“Did anyone see where the man took her?”

“I saw her in a building,” said Diana, “but couldn’t tell where it was. Roberta was crying and she had those plastic ties on her wrists and ankles.”

“Anything specific you remember about the building?” asked Luke. “Anything at all?”

“I didn’t see the outside,” said Diana, “only the inside. It was empty. No furniture. My impression was of a big house. A big empty house.”

“It could have been a house the person owns to hold young girls or one for sale or rent,” said Misty. “An older one for resale, or a new one not occupied yet.”

Luke made a note. “I’ll look into those possibilities. Does anyone have anything else?”

“I think we’re too tired,” said Claire. “For the future, I recommend we only do one child at a time. The vibes aren’t strong enough the second time around. We can’t do two back to back.”

“I’ve been watching y’all,” said Luke, “and I couldn’t agree more. The second session was too much. We’ll save Patti Hebert for the morning when everyone is fresh. After that, we’ll drive down Old River Road and see if we can find David Gareau.
